MEET JEAN MARC!

When Consultant is Getting Multiple Client Kudos, It's Time to Give Them The Spotlight!
Jean-Marc has been with VITS for 7 years and currently has been representing us at QBE Insurance as an IT Security/Data Analyst and has been recognized as a key contributor to the Data Loss Prevention Project by the entire Team and Leadership over at QBE Insurance. Let's learn more about Jean-Marc and his background.

Background:I have been working with VITS since 2016 and have over 8 years of experience working as a Data Analyst, Business System Analyst/Business Analyst in various industries (Including Target, Cargill, Delux, and many more). My current project with VITS is with the client QBE Insurance, where I’m working as a Data Analyst in the Risk Management space (Data Loss Prevention) and currently transitioning to a Security Analyst role in the Identity and Access Management realm.

What’s the most unusual place you have visited?
I grew up in Congo, which might be unusual to others, but it’s home for me.
What’s the most unusual thing in your desk drawer?
A small ceramic incense holder I received for the holidays from my previous director.
Fact that few people know about you?
I would say few people know I speak four languages, some on a regular basis.
Fact that most people know about you
Most people know that I am a painter in my free time and I enjoy working with my hands.
Best quote or saying that you like to live by or that inspires you
I’ll paraphrase it as that “If you have the faith of a tiny mustard seed, you can move mountains and nothing will be impossible for you”.

Humble, Creative, and Friendly.
What do you enjoy doing to relieve stress?
I like to do physical activities such as exercises and sometimes meditation.
What do you think you will be doing 20 years from now?
I would be relaxing on a beach with my wife and children.
What are you going to do when you retire?
I would like to travel the world.
What is one word that you would use to describe your team
Motivated.
What’s the greatest bit of advice a parent or mentor has given you?
"Invest in yourself”
Who was your favorite teacher in school and how did s/he impact you?
It was actually my high school counselor, who motivated me to push myself towards more challenging courses and out of my comfort zone.
At which store you would like to max out your credit card?
Is a car dealership a store? :) (Editor note: This is one of my favorite answers ever!)

Who would you most like to swap places with for a day?
Honestly, I’m happy just being myself.
What's the best compliment you have ever received?
Recently someone told me that they are impressed by how dedicated I am to helping others, that came from my current manager, and it meant a lot to me.
If you could change something in the world, what would it be?
I would change it so that there would be free education for everyone in the world.
